The Portsmouth site provides customers with all jointing kits, tool kits and equipment required to install and maintain their cable systems. PURPOSE To provide all the parts necessary, for the timely completion of all production and sales orders to our customer and maintain a clean and 5S compatible work area. The role will be responsible to complete all activities / functions within the workshop and other projects as directed by your line manager KEY DELIVERABLES Perform all workshop duties as required to achieve on time delivery of all production and sales orders. To process all parts that require protective wrapping and packing in accordance with company procedures, include part marking relevant parts as dictated by the drawing requirements. Ultrasonically clean any parts that need cleaning prior to packing To assemble and scan in all kits using the issued Bill of Materials for sales orders in accordance company procedures. To accept all planned deliveries, these will need to be signed for and paperwork for delivery stamped as unchecked. Check delivery against relevant Purchase order. Carry out Quality procedure checks (goods receiving), to ensure that all items are booked in correctly. Contact and liaise with suppliers if delivery has incorrect/missing paperwork, report details to purchasing if matter not resolved in 24 hours. Bring to the Workshop Manager/Supervisor attention any deliveries that are damaged on arrival. As directed by purchasing and the workshop Manager prepare for dispatch all goods/sales orders that are ready to be dispatched. To assemble and build in accordance with drawing instructions all tooling assemblies that is required for tooling sales orders. To inspect all tooling parts in accordance with company procedures. To grit parts that needs silicon carbide gritting. Perform monthly stock counts of selected parts. Work with the Workshop Manager/Supervisor as required. Maintain a clean and tidy working area at all times. Carry out general workshop duties as required. Qualifications, Skills and Experience QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Demonstrate the ability of the basic understanding of engineering drawings. Basic health and safety awareness. Demonstrate Attention to detail. Good analytical and literacy skills (GCSE Maths and English) Able to communicate at all levels. Demonstrate good team work skills. Ability to react to changing priorities. Fork truck (pedestrian) license advantageous. Basic understanding of MRP systems and how they operate and the importance of using the system correctly. Understand and basic working knowledge of Microsoft office and applications. Location Portsmouth (36 hour working week.
