We are seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Engineer (MEP) to join a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality building services solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project design teams, providing design proposals and professional expertise to successfully meet project requirements. Main Responsibilities: - Lead and manage projects from concept to completion, including preparing drawings, BIM models, specifications, and construction information. - Collaborate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and delivery. - Contribute to the creation of feasibility studies, building services strategy documents, and fee proposals. - Develop and prepare detailed designs, including layout, schematics, specifications, schedules, and calculations, while utilizing BIM models where appropriate. - Ensure clear communication of design solutions to the design team and clients. - Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions where necessary. - Act as the point of contact for your discipline and work closely with other lead designers. - Coordinate the design of construction elements and collaborate with other disciplines, consultants, and specialists. - Monitor and report on project progress and resources, ensuring that work stays within budget and on schedule. - Provide support and guidance to junior team members and assist in their professional development. - Play an active role in business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting in bid documentation. - Contribute to the development and improvement of the team and company culture. Skills and Qualifications: Essential: - HND or equivalent in a related field (Building Services or Electrical Engineering). - Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including individual responsibility for project delivery. - Experience working through all RIBA stages, particularly stages 5 and 6, including site installation and commissioning. - Strong technical and creative ability to design and implement building services systems. - Commercial awareness, including the impact of design decisions on project budgets. - Hands-on experience with Revit/BIM and delivering MEP design solutions. - Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within timelines and budgets. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and low-carbon design principles. Desirable: - Experience in sustainable building services systems, particularly in healthcare and BREEAM projects. - Experience of running multiple projects and negotiating fees. - Familiarity with CAD design systems, dynamic thermal modelling, and other relevant software tools such as Dialux, Relux, and NBS. - Private sector experience in project delivery. - Knowledge of BIM standards and workflow, including Navisworks for clash detection.
