Are you self-motivated, enthusiastic and want to make a difference? Then this may be the job for you.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse team on Ward 7B on a fixed term/secondment basis.
Ward 7B is a 24 bedded Respiratory ward, with a pleural procedures room present on the ward, for conducting all our pleural work. We provide the highest quality of nursing care to both male and female patients, on emergency and planned admission pathways.
On ward 7B, we care for patients in the acute stage of their admission through to discharge and manage conditions such as COPD exacerbations, lung cancers, type 2 respiratory failure, Non-Invasive Ventilation, chest drains, tracheostomies, chest infections, and severe sepsis as well as general medical care.
The ward is a busy, acute environment with a high turnover of patients. We therefore require experienced registrants who are committed to providing a high standard of individualised patient-centred nursing care, through effective assessment, planning, and delivery to be part of our leadership team.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must be enthusiastic and motivated to work in a busy medical environment using their initiative. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to organise and prioritise workload, be a great team player, and exhibit strong leadership skills.
Support, guidance and training will be given by the Ward Sister and the Band 6 team to develop the skills required for this role.
