A thriving primary school in Brent is seeking a highly skilled and passionate SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. The Role: Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive high-quality, targeted support. Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and interventions tailored to meet the needs of students with a wide range of SEN. Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective support for SEN students. Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting children with additional needs, promoting a culture of inclusion. Monitor the progress of SEN students, ensuring they are making good academic and personal progress, and implement strategies to address any gaps. Oversee the SEN budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize student outcomes. Lead on the development of the school’s SEN policy and ensure that all legal requirements and regulations are met. The Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a SENCO qualification (or a commitment to complete this within a set time). Previous experience working as a SENCO or in a role with significant involvement in supporting children with special educational needs. Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, interventions, and best practices to support students with a variety of needs. Proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and support a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals.
