Job Purpose:
To own all areas of trading activities for nominated companies within group consolidation ensuring timely and accurate reporting on all aspects of jobs and project delivery progress whilst providing meaningful analysis and business insight to create shareholder value and stakeholder involvement.
This is an integral business partnering role and a key senior role within the business entities for all financial related revenue matters for the Business Units. The role will be working closely with the key operational leads and financial control colleagues to help track, review and account for job/project progress and completion across a broad geographical area and range of projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and be the ultimate lead on ensuring all financial revenue related items are tracked, reviewed and accounted for in the correct manner to facilitate the delivery of high quality and up to date reporting and analysis that is provided to leadership to support effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
* Lead on the management and collation of the revenue related month end results and ongoing forecast requirements in an accurate and timely way to comply with group timetable.
* Support on efforts to provide pertinent and timely analysis and reporting of the financial performance of project progress and completion to enable an effective commercial review of all aspects of performance with associated KPIs.
* Drive improved transparency and accountability with a robust framework for ongoing analysis
* Challenge and collaborate with Sales and Operations to ensure commerciality and profitability are evidentially in focus.
* Enable and deliver financial training for non-financial colleagues responsible for project management ensuring it is understood why data is up to date and accurate.
* Ownership of the revenue related and job performance elements of the P&L and BS to ensure prepared in accordance with compliance and company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Financial Support:
* Lead the month end close activities in collaboration with relevant colleagues including Business Partners and financial control as well as all other operational teams to ensure close is accurate and understood to include but not limited to:
* Effective monitoring and review of activities and lead performance to attain an accurate and timely result from revenue recognition, cost consumption, ongoing project progress and completion of ongoing and closing profitability analysis.
* Ensuring the monthly revenue result is accounted for in accordance with compliance and company’s accounting policies and procedures; ensuring the integrity and consistency of the financial information.
* Ensure work in progress process is accurate and effective in the ERP and related job reports on time to deliver accurate individual job progress reporting and profitability.
* Ensure ongoing invoicing and revenue recognition for software is maintained and recorded correctly.
* Review and track operational databases through regular attendance at operational reviews to facilitate up to date reporting of all project related matters.
* Preparation, review, delivery and presentation of management information packs to include detailed commentary and analytics on monthly and year to date performance.
* Lead and manage all aspects of ERP system to deliver month end result.
* Preparation and analysis of the specific elements of all periodic budgets and forecasts with associated detailed commentary.
* Monitor and report on all project progress and completions to include overall profitability.
* Responsible for monitoring and reviewing intercompany transactions to ensuring they are accurately reconciled and invoiced to the relevant entity.
* Lead preparation and present monthly reporting packs to Operations Team for detailed variance analysis and financial performance.
* Lead processes and procedures to satisfy compliance requirements being pro-active for all areas of responsibility.
* Assist auditors with any queries and supporting documentation/schedules during year end/half year audit and statutory audit.
* Support the Head of Finance and on ad hoc projects and analysis.
People Support:
* Line management for Business Partners.

* Working in partnership with management and immediate team

Key attributes/skills and qualifications:
Education:
* Holder of a certification of ACA / ACCA / CIMA
* Financial related degree or equivalent level
Experience:
* Proven and strong experience in business partnering/commercial finance
* Strong accounting knowledge
* Have experience in working in a growing organisation and being the bridge between the business and Finance
* Experience working with and influencing financial and non-financial stakeholders
Skills:
* Advanced MS Office skills (particularly Excel)
* With proven capabilities and understanding of revenue recognition
* Ability to interrogate financial data and effect appropriate follow up actions and interpret and report on outcomes/results
