The Role
An exciting opportunity awaits a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Greater Manchester. This role comes as our practice relocates to a state-of-the-art clinic, necessitating the addition of a new team member.
Working alongside experienced branch partners, you’ll receive full support in your role. One of the BPs holds a certificate in small animal internal medicine, and the other BP is nearing completion of the small animal surgery certificate. Our practice boasts a friendly client base that values the personal service we provide.
This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking the support to advance their career. It thrives in an environment where colleagues collaborate, sharing skills and knowledge to ensure the best patient outcomes. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and confidence in routine surgery and diagnostics.
The position encompasses 39 hours per week, including a 1:3 Saturday rotation or a 1:6 rotation of Saturday and Sunday shifts. The hours are distributed across a 4-day workweek, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
Salary & Benefits
1. Salary up to £65,000 dependent on experience
2. £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days of CPD leave
3. VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid
4. 5 weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays
5. An additional day off for 100% attendance and your child’s first day of school
6. Paid sabbatical after 5 years of service

Ramsbottom is home to a bustling, first-opinion veterinary practice situated in the heart of town, offering a wealth of dining and shopping options nearby. It boasts convenient links to Manchester, with Manchester airport just a 30-minute drive away. Situated in a rural setting, there’s beautiful countryside at your doorstep, including the Peak District and Lake District within an hour’s drive.
The branch is fully equipped for medical workups and surgical procedures, with support from our team of vets and nurses. Equipment includes ECG, X-Ray, Ultrasound, and an Operating Theatre.
