Role Summary: Portsmouth Football Club is excited to announce a vacancy for a Lead Foundation Phase Coach. This is a critical leadership position within our academy, responsible for the management and development of players in the Foundation Phase (U9-U11) and our Pre-Academy (U6-U8). Your Key responsibilities include: Implementation of Coaching Strategy: Lead the coaching of the Foundation Phase, ensuring alignment with the academy’s vision and values. Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensure processes are monitored, tasks are completed on time, and continuously evaluate the phase strategy for improvement. Collaboration with Multi-Disciplinary Team: Lead MDT meetings to work collaboratively on curriculum delivery and player development. Staff Development: Conduct annual appraisals and consider development needs of casual coaching staff in weekly planning. Player Retention: Lead the team of coaches at Player Development Review (PDR) meetings and disseminate player retain and release decisions to parents in the phase Session Planning: Monitor and evaluate coaching session plans to ensure they meet the Academy Curriculum standards and are accurately recorded on FIP. Game Programming: Work with the Recruitment Co-Ordinator to arrange internal games for player development and external recruitment. Use of Technology: Utilise platforms like Hudl to analyse FP matches and build knowledge across the phase. Logistics Coordination: Ensure that the games programme for U9-U11s is properly arranged in line with the scheduled EFL Games Programme and create a diverse games programme for the U6-U8 pre academy players Player Recruitment: Attend Pre-Academy and Academy Scouting events and meet with target player families to support and influence the recruitment of players. Continuous Improvement: Lead quarterly phase evaluations and innovate to enhance the development strategy. About you: The role will be based at the training ground in Portsmouth; however, there will be a need to travel to a variety of venues across the South for games/ Right to work in the UK must be held prior to applying / Satisfy all DBS and Club Employment checks.
