Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery located in North Lincolnshire is a key asset for the Prax Group and is a world-class supplier of quality fuels. Constructed in 1968, it has the capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (up to 113,000 barrels a day) and currently employs around 450 staff in addition to a similar complement of contract personnel. The refinery extends over 500 acres and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline.

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Maintenance Technician-Analyser reporting to the Analyser Engineer working in the Maintenance Support Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing routine maintenance and fault-finding activities to ensure the refinery operates efficiently. This includes prioritising work notifications to maximise refinery availability, whilst coaching, training, and developing the Business Teams' Analyser Technicians to enhance skills and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Co-ordinating and directing the safe and efficient completion of maintenance routines and breakdowns.
2. Ensuring site personnel comply with ATEX and current site standards and procedures.
3. Ensuring site Management of Change system is complied with.
4. Completing corrective actions on time to required quality standards in alignment with MyCompliance Incident Reports.
5. Provide leadership, motivation, and training to Prax staff and maintenance contractors, offering technical guidance where necessary.
6. Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to equipment as directed, ensuring all associated administrative tasks and paperwork are completed.
7. Prioritising work notifications in alignment with business team needs and availability of spares.
8. Liase with technical suppliers and OEMs to support reliable operation of Analyser and supporting equipment.
9. Participating in the outage and T&I workscope preparations and execution for area of expertise.
10. Foster a positive HSEQI culture and support Refinery HSEQI objectives by:
11. Following Refinery Golden Safety Rules and Operator Principles.
12. Reporting HSEQI accidents and Near Miss events and contributing to investigations as required.
13. Participating in risk assessments, audits, performance monitoring, and review meetings.
14. Engaging in HSEQI campaigns, initiatives, and communications.
15. Completing HSEQI actions, data reviews, and investigation reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated strong technical competence in an instrumentation/analyser role. You will need to have a good knowledge of refinery operations and process control systems.
In addition, you should have completed a recognised technical apprenticeship and ideally possess an HNC/HND qualification. We are looking for candidates with a significant depth of knowledge gained through substantial experience within a relevant large petrochemical or similar heavy industrial environment. You should also have a good understanding of ATEX. You should be IT literate with strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills. CMMS (SAP) experience preferred.
