Job Description
We are looking for a Team Manager to join our friendly supportive team in the North Front Door Service in Kilmarnock. You will lead and manage a team of social workers and support assistants to support people to access support in their community, build strong partnership links with voluntary sector services and support people to access Social Work support as required.
You will lead a team to work with a person centred approach to enable people to access social support, connection within the community and support reablement in partnership with Occupational therapists. You will work closely with other Team Managers to ensure the person is at the centre of the support. You will also provide oversight and professional leadership for staff delivering statutory duties including Adult and Support and Protection, and Adults with Incapacity legislation.
You will be innovative and enthusiastic, have excellent organisational skills and be a clear and effective communicator. Previous experience of working in a community setting and an understanding of the legal frameworks and the Local authority’s statutory responsibilities relevant to Social work are essential.
Please note a Social Worker Qualification is essential.
Requirements
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
Responsibilities
We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer. It is also a requirement that the reference from your current or most recent employer is from an appropriate senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.

This is a full time permanent post based within Locality Health and Care, Crosshouse Hospital, Lister Street, Crosshouse
Hours of Post - 35 hours
Work Pattern - Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm, Friday 9.00 am - 4.00 pm
Annual Salary £47, - £52,
