Join Barclays as an OpenShift Developer where you’ll be responsible for driving innovation and efficiency in our financial systems. This role requires expertise in containerized microservices, DevOps practices, and database management, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
* Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
* Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
* Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
* Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
* Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Minimum Requirements:
* Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized microservices.
* Ability to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications on OpenShift.
* Extensive knowledge of DevOps practices, enabling automation, continuous delivery, and operational excellence.
* Deep experience with Oracle PL/SQL for database development and integration, including performance optimization and handling large-scale financial datasets.
* Proficiency in Avaloq Core development, including implementing modules, customizing functionalities, and writing Avaloq scripts.
* Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms for scaling and integrating Avaloq solutions with cloud-based services.
* Understanding of cybersecurity principles and financial regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GDPR and PSD2.
This role is based in Glasgow.
