Environmental Enforcement Officer - Lambeth - Full-Time; 42.5 hours - £34,458.02 per annum

Could you be our next Environmental Enforcement Officer?
As an Environmental Enforcement Officer, you will enforce local laws to protect the area from litter, dog fouling, various other breaches, and local bye-law violations. So, what can you expect as an EEO?
You will be helping members of the public, patrolling streets and upholding environmental conducts.
What you will do:
1. You will monitor and enforce within the London Borough of Lambeth by foot patrol, make enquiries and pursue action where appropriate.
2. You will examine reports of littering, fly tipping and dog fouling and other similar offences.
3. You will issue Fixed Penalty Notices for offences where appropriate.
4. You will prepare and submit relevant cases for trial and assist legal services in presenting cases to court and attending as a witness when needed.
5. You will record witness statements and conduct interviews under caution when required.
6. You will validate and verify personal details of offenders.
7. You will build good working relations with key service areas and other agencies including the Police.
What you will bring:
1. Experience of enforcement work (including security work).
2. Knowledge of environmental services such as cleansing and waste collection (desired).
3. Skill to converse well to different audiences and work as part of a team.
4. Be able to deal with complaints and resolve complex issues.
5. Enthusiasm and a positive ‘can do’ attitude to work.
