Ward 20 Tunbridge Wells Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our team. Ward 20 is an acute 30 bedded medical ward which specialises in endocrinology and our patients have a variety of different needs.
We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Nurse, who is keen to join our team. You will be working directly under the supervision of the nursing staff on the ward. A background in health care would be an advantage but is not essential as full training and induction will be provided.
Main duties of the job
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* An ability to work within a team
* Good time management skills to prioritise instructions as delegated by the registered nurse
* Empathy with patients and their relatives
This exciting position is a part-time position: 13.5 hours a week

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date has been agreed.
Following your corporate induction, you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs, and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions, and e-learning.

Qualifications
* First level registered nurse registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council
* Evidence of further education since qualification
* Advance Life Support provider
Experience
* Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse.
* Understanding of equality and diversity and how to apply it to self.
* Understanding of NMC Code and requirements of it for own practice and behaviour.
* Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS.
* Experience at Band 5 in an acute setting.
* Proficient clinician and clinical role model.
* Understanding of audit and benchmarking processes.
