To ensure that Yorkshire Water complies with the Drinking Water Inspectorate Undertaking requirements. This will Involve sampling at sub-catchment level from surface and groundwater sources. Additionally, it will ensure the business will comply with regulatory Water Industry National Environment Programme scheme monitoring and requirements for quality schemes and Drinking Water Safety Plans catchment investigations. Where you fit in: This role will Involve travelling across the Yorkshire Region taking samples from rivers, reservoirs and boreholes. As a Catchment Sampling Officer, you will: Ensure all catchment sampling is conducted as per the regulatory catchment sampling programme, including sub-catchment level samples for central lab analysis. Perform other required sampling, such as raw water investigation, river sampling, and groundwater sampling. Carry out on-site maintenance of sampling equipment as needed. Use Sample Manager and record sheets to accurately record activities and maintain sample records. Adhere to all monitoring requirements of the Drinking Water Inspectorate Undertaking, Water Industry National Environment Programme, and Drinking Water Safety Plan Catchment investigations, and report any potential compliance issues. Maintain awareness of Health and Safety considerations at all times. What skills & qualifications you will need: Develops and maintains effective internal relationships, has a good teamwork focus and customer relations. Competent IT skills in Office and email packages with willingness to learn. Experience of delivering excellent customer service and resolution of customer contacts. Experience of working in a procedural and regulated environment. Holds full valid driving licence and understands the challenges of occupational driving. Willingness to complete 4x4 off road training. Is self-motivated and able to manage workload independently. Ability to work at heights. To have a basic understanding of water treatment operations and catchments. Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs. Is flexible in their approach to work and the possibility of weekend working You will also benefit from having: Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment. Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, catchment sectors. Proficient knowledge of YW corporate systems. Regulatory Awareness Previous experience in a quality or sampling role. To understand water quality regulation.
