This is an exciting opportunity to be the strategic and professional lead for Older People Psychology provision within Acute Inpatient Services, with additional professional leadership responsibility for Community Older People Psychology, in East Cheshire. This brand new 8c Consultant Clinical Psychologist Locality Lead post for older people demonstrates CWP's commitment to improving the psychological and trauma informed care provided to patients, families and staff in the acute services pathway.
Main duties of the job
As the Consultant Clinical Psychologist Lead you will be responsible for providing clinical, professional and strategic leadership in developing and maintaining systematic, high quality and comprehensive psychology services for older people within the acute pathway, and for professional and clinical leadership for the community Older People Psychology service in a locality. You will also provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention, and input to care and treatment planning and discharge planning for individual patients, working as part of the multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous specialist Consultant.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
* Registered with the HCPC.
* Post-doctoral training in one of more additional relevant specialised areas of psychological practice.
* Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN).
Knowledge and Expertise
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment.
* Highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological approaches.
* Knowledge of relevant NHS structures, processes and policies.
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
* Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Familiarity with theory & practice of management & organisational change.
* Formal leadership and/or management training.
* Approved Clinician training.
Experience
* Extensive assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
* Extensive experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation & intervention.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups.
* Experience of the professional and clinical supervision/management of qualified and pre-qualified clinical psychologists.
* Experience of policy and service development.
* Experience of organising and chairing meetings.
* Experience of managing referrals and waiting lists.
* Experience of managing budgets & resources.
* Experience of representing the profession in local policy fora.
* Experience of working in inpatient and/or urgent care services.
* Experience of working in Older Adults services.
