Job Title: Residential Support Care Worker Location: Colchester Salary Scale: £ a day We are looking to recruit a dedicated Residential Support Care Worker to join our team at the residential unit, where pupils board from Monday to Thursday nights. As a Residential Support Care Worker, you will play an integral role in supporting the pupils during their residential stay, ensuring they have a safe, supportive, and enjoyable experience. Key Responsibilities for the Residential Support Care Worker: Support pupils during their time at the residential unit, helping with activities, trips, evening meals, and morning routines. Ensure students follow a therapeutic approach to behaviour and learning in line with the school’s ethos. Assist with personal care needs and contribute to housekeeping duties in the unit. Participate in sleep-in duties and be on hand to offer support during the evening and night, as needed. About the Role: Position: Residential Support Care Worker Working Hours: 26 or 37 hours per week (Term Time plus Non Pupil Days) Shift Pattern: Rolling two-week rota, including early and late shifts Start Date: ASAP As a Residential Support Care Worker, you will assist students with a range of learning difficulties, including autism and challenging behaviour. You will be involved in morning and bedtime routines, providing a caring and structured environment that helps each pupil grow and thrive. In addition to personal care and day-to-day duties, you will be part of creating a safe space for our pupils to explore activities and develop essential life skills. Qualifications and Training for the Residential Support Care Worker: Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Social Care Pathway or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this qualification (training will be provided).
