Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist - Milton Keynes £43,742 - £50,056 DOE

Main Purpose
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing occupational therapy within the BIRT Neurobehavioral model to service users with acquired brain injury (ABI), and to lead the OT provision within the service. To liaise with internal and external professionals, family members, and service users.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Clinical / Professional Practice: Work autonomously within a specialist clinical area with advanced skills in neurological rehabilitation, managing complex cases, developing care plans, and evaluating interventions based on evidence and user-centered principles.
* Address occupational performance deficits, develop care programs, and ensure effective communication and documentation in line with RCOT guidelines.
* Engage with service users, families, and outside agencies sensitively, respecting cultural differences and individual circumstances.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team activities, contribute to shared decision-making, and support discharge planning and equipment referrals.
* Implement infection control and health and safety guidelines.
* Leadership: Manage workload effectively, act as a role model, support team members, and contribute to service quality and development projects. Support recruitment and supervise staff, students, and volunteers.
* Evidence, Research, and Development: Conduct evidence searches, participate in research and audit projects, contribute to guideline development, and ensure compliance with research governance.
