To participate in the provision of the in-house FM services to a specified area within the Trust, which may include in-patient areas and retail outlets. The FM services comprise of Cleaning, Catering, Portering, Bed making, and Laundering services. Therefore sections of this job description may not be relevant to all staff and will be identified where appropriate but are not exhaustive.
You must be aware of the important part you play in maintaining the environment to an excellent standard and that your work will involve working alongside patients and occasionally interacting with them as you carry out your duties outlined below.
You will be working as part of the Facilities Team and are expected to have a flexible approach to your duties as a valued member of the Estates & Facilities Management Team.
Main duties of the job
Catering Services
* Use the regeneration oven to cook frozen meals by taking and recording the temperature of the cook freeze food prior to placing it into the regeneration oven and commencing the cook cycle. Prepare soup, gravy, and custard for the patient meal service. You will be responsible for the whole regeneration process, which will include ensuring temperatures are recorded at the end of the regeneration cycle and for plating food in order that it can be served to patients by clinical staff at Rawreth Court, Clifton Lodge.
* Ensure oven gloves and cloths are used and laundered on a regular basis on site.
* Be responsible for serving and clearing away the meals served to patients in the ward/area you are working in.
* Be responsible for the cleaning of crockery and cutlery used for serving patients' meals.
* Record temperatures of the fridges and freezers twice daily.
* Ensure that the kitchen is clean and compliant with all documentation.
* Ensure collaboration is completed and signed off.
* Report any issues with food to the appropriate supplier and your supervisor.
* Ensure that you have enough stock of pureed meals for the residents and report to supervisor before running out.
* Cover your team's annual leave and sickness where appropriate.

Job responsibilities
Food Services

* Ensure oven gloves and cloths are used and laundered on a regular basis.
* Be responsible (if applicable) for serving and clearing away the meals served to patients in the ward/area you are working in.
* Be responsible for the cleaning of crockery and cutlery used for serving patients' meals.
* Ensure mandatory training is kept up to date.
* Have regular 1-1s with your supervisor and appraisal.
Person Specification
Experience
* Use of Regeneration oven
* Able to collaborate probes for testing food temperatures
* Ability to use commercial catering equipment
* Knowledge of food hygiene
* Knowledge of COSHH
* Knowledge of HACCP
Skills/Experience
* To be able to read, write, and converse in English
* Basic use of computer packages - Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Able to use small and large pieces of catering equipment such as regen trolleys and dishwashers
