Position: Student Engagement Lead

Salary: NJC Grade 6(18-22) - £36,124-39,513

Reporting To: Deputy Headteacher

Telford Park School is seeking a dedicated Student Engagement Lead to take a proactive role in supporting our students, families, and staff. This is a unique opportunity to lead a critical aspect of our pastoral care provision and work closely with a dynamic team of professionals.
About the Role
As Student Engagement Lead, you will:
1. Lead and coordinate school interventions to support vulnerable students, including mental health, behaviour, and social care initiatives.
2. Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
3. Build and maintain positive relationships with families and external agencies to offer holistic support.
4. Mentor students in need and oversee mentoring programs across the school.
5. Quality assure interventions, monitor their impact, and report on outcomes.
6. Deliver staff training on intervention strategies and safeguarding practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead triage meetings with safeguarding, SEN, and pastoral teams to ensure a joined-up approach to student support.
2. Collaborate with external agencies to provide specialist support and early help where needed.
3. Line manage and develop key colleagues within the pastoral team.
4. Deliver CPD for staff to enhance their ability to support students effectively.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will be:
1. Experienced in coordinating interventions and working with vulnerable students.
2. Knowledgeable in safeguarding and statutory guidance, ideally with DDSL experience.
3. Skilled at building relationships with hard-to-reach families and external partners.
4. A strong leader with the ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
5. Proactive, empathetic, and highly organized with a solution-focused mindset.
