What you’ll be doing
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join our Tax team, focusing on corporate income tax (CIT) compliance and advisory for the UK and EMEA regions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing CIT returns, managing R&D tax claims, handling group relief processes across multiple jurisdictions and implementing Pillar 2 legislation across EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and submit corporate income tax (CIT) returns for the UK and EMEA regions, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with local tax laws.
2. Support the preparation and filing of R&D tax relief claims, including data gathering, claim calculations, and documentation.
3. Manage group relief claims and surrenders within the corporate group structure, ensuring optimal tax efficiency.
4. Assist with tax provision calculations and reporting for financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to gather relevant financial data and ensure accurate tax filings.
6. Monitor changes in tax legislation across the UK and EMEA regions in particular Pillar 2, assessing impacts and advising on necessary actions.
7. Support tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
8. Support the Tax manager on matters related to tax compliance and advisory for Hitachi’s European subsidiaries and branches.
9. Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function.
10. Provide ad-hoc tax advice and support on business projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
Skills & Experience
1. This position ideally suits someone who is ACCA / ACA / ATT / CTA qualified with experience in working with large multinationals either from an in house or tax consulting perspective and is looking for the next challenge in their career.
2. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
3. Experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory, high-level understanding of International Tax Issues.
4. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, oral and written.
5. Strong organisational skills.
6. Pro-active team player.
7. Strong computer literacy skills (particularly Excel).
8. SAP skills required.
9. Ability to handle multiple workflows at one time, prioritising in an effective manner.
10. Excellent research skills.
11. Ability to interact effectively with the finance team, including regional finance managers/directors, corporate tax and transfer pricing colleagues, as well as tax authorities and external advisors.
12. A superior work ethic and a dedication to the highest work quality and job excellence.
13. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity and accountability.
14. Able to function in a changing environment, act assertively, self-motivated.
