Tasks
* Liaise with the marketing department
* Attend networking events
* Run CPD’s for engineers explaining our products and services
* Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
* Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
* Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
* Meet with customers/clients face-to-face or over the phone
* Foster and develop relationships with customers, clients, partners, sponsors and donors to generate repeat business and find new opportunities
* Understand the needs of your customers and respond effectively with a plan to meet these needs
* Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business and reach new audiences
* Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning to implement operational changes
* Draw up client contracts - depending on the size of the company, this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal
* Lead on and support bid-writing for new contracts where appropriate
* Have a good understanding of the business's products or services and advise others about them
* Ensure staff are on board throughout the organisation, understand the need for change, and know what is required of them
* Train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate
* Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
* Liaise with the finance team, warehousing, and logistics departments as appropriate
* Seek ways to improve the way the business operates
* Research and attend seminars, conferences, and events to build your business's network and profile
* Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world
* Help to plan sales campaigns
* Prepare project case studies and media releases for the marketing department to circulate on social media, website, etc.
* Create a sales pipeline
* Increase sales of the business
* Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present findings to senior management/the board of directors
* Develop the business sales and marketing strategy
Requirements
Must be willing to travel and hold a full driving licence; occasional overseas travel based in Tunbridge Wells with regional offices in the North of England.
