NRL are working with a engineering company who specialise within the critical power sectors.
The ideal candidate will be electrically minded and have an extensive knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical installations as well as on-site experience of communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Some of the responsibilities will include...
- Interpret project specifications
- Liaise with contractors to develop solutions
- Create quotations for proposals, upgrades and variations to works
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Co-ordinate equipment orders & deliveries
- Follow project plans and validating project outcomes for sign-off.
- Assist with the training of new electrical engineers
Keeping safety central, you’ll review Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to work commencing and complete regular safety audits.
To ensure the smooth running of your projects, you’ll coordinate with relevant departments to ensure all arrangements are in place i.e. Labour, Equipment, Materials, Shutdowns, paperwork, permits etc and attend multi-functional meetings as the department representative, provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders and adhere to all required Procurement and Finance processes.
Skills and requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience as an electrical installation engineer
- Practical understanding of Facilities, Utilities and Electrical systems work
- Ability to understand relevant technical specifications and drawings.
- Experience of working in an industrial environment.
- Good project management or organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities to Meet deadlines, even in a fast-paced and changeable work environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken English), able to liaise with stakeholders of all levels, and write concise reports.
- Good IT skills – including Microsoft Office; experience of MS Project, AutoCAD and other project management tools would be useful.
- Works in a proactive and methodical manner with a good eye for detail – knows the right questions to ask to gain clarity in sometimes unclear situations
