The post-holder will also play an integral part in the mentorship, development and training of junior staff and students. You will be expected to work closely alongside the Practice Education team in the management of students/ODP rotation placements, to ensure all individuals develop into safe, confident and competent practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working clinically on anaesthetics, providing high standards of quality care to all patients.
2. Consider ways to improve processes within the department to improve patient care and cost saving ideas.
3. Coordinate both units on a regular basis, working to ensure all aspects of the coordinators checklist are completed daily.
4. Take responsibility for the development of junior staff and students, by managing their placements in DSU & Eyes and liaising with mentors and Practice Education.
5. Monitor and maintain the control of anaesthetic stock within theatre and any adjoining areas.
6. Assist the theatre manager in the return to work process, appraisals, and probation management of new members of the team. You may also be expected to deputise in the absence of the theatre manager.
