Our supported living service in St Julians, Newport provides support for 5 individuals in their own flats. This innovative service seeks new and exciting ways of supporting the individuals to attain new experiences. This will be an opportunity to help them to explore more independent ways of living and gaining life skills whilst supporting them to create new and exciting opportunities for themselves. A Full UK driving licence is required for this service. Our Support living service in Somerton, Newport is the home of 4 caring and social individuals with mental health and learning disabilities. These individuals are like a little family who support and care for one another. They have a varied degree of independence and some enjoy going out on their own. As a support worker, you will be working with these incredible individuals to enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities. In both services duties will include: Support with personal care – when required Medication administration Stock taking of medication and finances support with developing a community presence in surroundings support with establishing a strong tenancy and establishing their own home support with physical and emotional wellbeing support to develop new daily living skills and promoting independence support with accessing further education and work placements What skills and experience do you need? A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.
