Location: Smethwick – commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Walsall, Dudley, Bridgnorth, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
This impressive industrial manufacturing company within the Smethwick area, is seeking a proactive Electrical Technician to join their large Maintenance team on permanent days, working 8am – 4.30pm across Monday to Friday.
The company successfully manufactures and exports a wide range of industrial products to customers across the globe. The Electrical Technician will be part of their skilled Maintenance team where you can expect to have good opportunities to continue to grow your professional knowledge & skills through additional internal/external training & mentoring.
The Electrical Technician will undertake both PPM and be responding to faults & breakdowns, working with the wider team to undertake project work too. Each member of the Maintenance team needs to be comfortable in communicating effectively with other departments across the company, to ensure daily goals are understood and met.
Interested Candidates need to be electrically qualified, ideally through an electrical apprenticeship and/or hold practical qualifications at RQF Level 3 or higher.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Electrical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment.
Electrical plant installation and modification work in an industrial environment.
Statutory inspections.
The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems - CMMS.
The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with configuration & troubleshooting.
Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems.
Ideally have an understanding of ATEX requirements.
Preferred Training / Qualifications:
Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g. City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline as a minimum.
Ideally you would have a recognised Electrical apprenticeship.
Ideally you have the 18th edition electrical wiring regulations.
Ideally you would have a Compex (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualification but this is not a necessity.
Ideally you would also have training with MEWP’s.
