Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Laboratory Manager at MWE in Corsham. The role involves overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations, managing a team of lab technicians, ensuring quality control, and leading research and development initiatives related to specimen collection and analysis.
Working in accordance with Good Laboratory practices, H&S in the laboratory, customer and Company requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's or master’s degree in microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field
* Ideally 5+ years’ experience in Quality Control, Laboratory Skills, and Analytical Skills within a Microbiological environment in the Food, Clinical, Biotechnology, Cosmetics, Water, Brewing or Pharmaceutical industry.
* SOP creation and continuous improvement experience
* Strong background in Research and Development (R&D)
* Excellent organizational and managerial skills
* Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* Previous demonstrable experience in microbiology or related field
* Strong coach and people developer, keen to improve the skill sets and capabilities.
* Have significant experience in change management.
* Able to work autonomously and seek advice/escalate issues as required.
* Proficiency in working with Laboratory Equipment
Customer Satisfaction
* Proactively support or investigate customer complaints and technical issues and ensure root cause and CAPA is implemented.
* Ensure raw material risk assessments are completed, reviewed and raw materials are tested and released to meet production demand.
* Ensure our Products perform to Microbiological and other Standards – Corrective Actions & trending of all results.
* Non-Conformances - Ensure the management of non-conformances to the business where non-conformance is identified with root cause and CAPA.
* Overall responsible for the on-site analytical laboratory and ensuring GLP are being followed.
Quality Improvement
* Track and trend KPIs.
* Support plant Quality Improvement and Master Plans.
* Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement - Coach and drive the culture of problem solving and continuous improvement and ensure effective reviews are taking place between each operational department.
