Saddlers Resourcing are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to start working with our client on a long-term water contract.
The Role:
The Project Manager is to assist in the delivery of multiple ongoing projects, to the specified quality, the required programme, and to the maximum commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
General management
1. Work closely with the Project Manager to deliver projects from design phase to completion including all handover documentation.
2. Review progress, budget resources, and forward planning.
3. Review work packages and ensure scope of work is clearly defined and understood.
4. Attend weekly site meetings and ensure the production of accurate records of any discussions and actions.
5. Build and maintain good relationships with the customer, framework suppliers, and design consultants.
6. Co-ordinate and manage site investigations during the ongoing construction process.
7. Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed.
8. Prepare comprehensive estimates for additional work outside target costs.
Health, safety and environmental
1. By example, set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations.
2. Ensure all HSE-related documents are kept up to date.
3. Produce monthly reports for HSE team.
4. Allocate HSE responsibilities and duties for site personnel, check understanding and provide training as necessary.
5. Ensure that all subcontractors take appropriate steps to follow our clients' procedures and processes.
6. Ensure that site waste management plans and site-specific environmental risk assessments are produced and maintained.
7. Provide training and briefings to the team.
Key Relationships:
1. Customers and stakeholders.
2. Subcontractors and suppliers.
3. Site team members and support departments.
4. Current and potential clients.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of managing projects within Civil and Water sectors, and is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential
1. Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting.
2. Ability to use Primavera P6 software or equivalent.
3. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
4. CSCS.
5. SMSTS.
6. Knowledge of the NEC contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.
7. Excellent communication, people and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and mentor.
8. Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
9. Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance.
10. Problem solving and analytical thinking.
11. Experience of a direct labour organisation.
