Role: Medical Laboratory Assistant Night shift ( Specimen Reception) Site: HCA Laboratories – Shropshire House, London Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Night s hifts are 8.30pm to 8.00am – Monday to Friday, three nights in week one and four nights in week two Contract Type: Permanent Salary : Competitive dependent on skills and experience (with excellent benefits). A 12% shift enhancement will also be included for working night duties. We’re looking for a Medical Lab Assistant to join our C entral Specimen Reception night shift team on a permanent basis. As a Medical Lab Assistant, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team to provide timely service to all of our stakeholders. Duties & responsibilities: Receive and book laboratory samples into Meditech Ensure correct samples are received for the tests required Distribute samples to sections, prioritising samples as necessary Package and organise delivery of samples for referral laboratories Assist in answering telephone enquiries Understand the requirements of 3rd Party Clients Liase with 3rd Party Clients Understand test requirements Work unsupervised within the department Disinfect bench area/equipment as per protocols to ensure infection Control and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
