We have an exciting opportunity with a brand new role to join Waitrose as a Lead Packaging Manager, reporting into our Head of Packaging Design & Delivery.
We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. There will also be an expectation to visit other locations/suppliers as the need arises.
Salary: £57,000 - £81,100

About the role
In this role, you will lead a team of Packaging Managers. You will be focused on harnessing and managing product, technical and packaging research, development and innovation capability to develop a best in class product plan.
You will extend our differentiated market position and ensure this is aligned to our overall customer proposition. Designing and delivering innovative, safe, sustainable and differentiated packaging and delivering efficient and cost-effective artwork for Own Brand products.
You will also:
* Define and enable delivery against ambitious packaging targets.
* Lead packaging team to identify, develop and implement own label packaging and material opportunities that add value and deliver effective and innovative packaging, meeting the packaging targets and delivering our environmental commitments to support the Ethics and Sustainability strategy.
* Ensure conformance with Partnership and regulatory policies and procedures at all times and deliver safe and sustainable packaging solutions.
Essential skills you’ll need:
* Strong technical/commercial experience and proven ability in delivering strong results.
* Packaging expertise.
* People management experience.
* Experience of working collaboratively.
