About the role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. You will be responsible for assisting the Finance Business Partners to support our budget holders with budget setting and budgetary control and ensuring accurate and timely financial performance reporting for the Board, Committees, Senior Management, and Budget Holders.
This role is home-based with a requirement to attend up to 2 staff away days each year in Northamptonshire.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Manage the month-end timetable and carry out month-end tasks, including control account reconciliations, posting journal adjustments, and calculating accruals and prepayments.
2. Supporting the Finance Business Partners to deliver a customer-focused service to our budget holders, working with various service areas throughout the organisation.
3. Producing monthly budget holder reports and management accounts ensuring accuracy and meeting reporting deadlines.
4. Assist in delivering the wider objectives of the finance team as required.
5. Supporting and advising Budget Managers in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and through the provision of management information.
What we are looking for:
Our successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
1. Experience of working within an accountancy or finance environment with involvement in budget setting and producing management accounts.
2. Be AAT Qualified (or equivalent) with a willingness to study towards the CIMA/ACCA Qualification.
3. Experience of producing financial reports and financial reconciliations. You should have the confidence to present and discuss these with budget holders and senior managers.
4. Ability to assist with the production of budgets, forecasts, budget monitoring, and variance analysis.
5. Ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
6. Be a team player with the ability to work independently when required.
