A ‘Good’ Burnley based primary school is seeking to appoint an outstanding Year 1 teacher. Located in the heart of Burnley, the school is easily accessible by both car and public transport and accommodates a diverse catchment of pupils broadly ranging in abilities. Behaviour at the school is generally good, but the Head Teacher considers it of the utmost importance that the successful practitioner be capable and confident in consistently implementing their well-supported behavioural policy.
As a teacher in this school, you would be required to:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and innovative lessons of an excellent standard, derived from a sound knowledge of the national curriculum and phonics schemes.
2. Address gaps in learning due to school closures and aid the children in their reintegration to school life.
3. Consistently implement the school’s strong behavioural strategy with confidence to enforce high standards towards learning and the classroom environment.
4. Approach day-to-day work with enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a clear will to better yourself.
Should you prove successful in securing this role, you would be welcomed by a friendly, bubbly team of core staff who pride themselves on their positive working relationships and team dynamics. The wider team possesses a wealth of experience and is more than happy to help any new practitioner settle into the school. You would also be assisted by a full-time Teaching Assistant who has worked at the school for a number of years and is familiar with the structure of the school day and other relevant policies. The Head Teacher is willing to consider both experienced and newly qualified teachers, but recent classroom experience and excellent references are a necessity.
