Job summary This exciting Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist position offers the opportunity to lead the Surgical Therapy team alongside the Clinical specialist Physiotherapist in providing the therapy service to inpatients on the Surgical wards. We are looking for an enthusiastic OT who demonstrates a keen interest in this clinical specialty and who demonstrates proven or developing leadership skills. The post-holder will also be expected to provide some support to the OTs working in the Critical Care team in the absence of their Clinical specialist and also to work alongside the other Band 7s on site to develop the service and problem-solve collaboratively across each specialty. Main duties of the job The post holder will lead the Occupational Therapy team across the surgical pathway including input to pre-assessment clinics, post-surgery and planning discharge from hospital. They will demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative working, along with other clinical specialists across the Health Economy, in order to provide a high quality, efficient service. In conjunction with the Clinical and Site Lead they will ensure clinical governance targets are met, including the development of clinical standards and protocols, specialist evidence based practice, audit, research, clinical and non-clinical risk management.
