Harvey Nash have exclusively partnered with University of Leeds to recruit a Storage Engineer. This is a business-critical role as the university continues to drive transformation and utilise cutting-edge storage models.
The university has set out an ambitious plan to enhance student education, research, and corporate systems through increased use of technology, data, and digital approaches as part of the new strategy after a significant investment.
As a Storage Engineer you will work closely with researchers and technical teams across the university on the technical storage requirements, looking at how the university uses storage and consistently adapting to an evolving research landscape.
With several large-scale pieces of research underway utilising masses of storage, this is an incredibly exciting role and unique opportunity for someone to help drive significant change and modernisation, in doing so ensure that the university continues to be cutting-edge.
Experience of interest:
* Delivering Storage space from on-prem and public cloud (Azure), providing ongoing support for complex storage infrastructure.
* Coaching, mentoring and educating less experienced engineers on modern storage.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage key stakeholders as part of project delivery, assessing impact of technical decisions, and providing frequent updates on storage.
* Experience supporting DellEMC, NetApp (Isilon/Powerscale) or OnTap, LDAP integration.
* Producing and maintaining technical documentation and driving continual service improvements.
* Dealing with data migration, file attribute and permissions across Windows, Linux and Mac would be highly advantageous.
