Job Advertisement: Autism Provision Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Provision Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position starting in January and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.
About the Role:
As an Autism Provision Teaching Assistant, you will work within the school’s autism provision to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play a crucial role in helping students navigate their educational journey, ensuring they feel supported, understood, and able to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASC, both within the autism provision and mainstream classroom settings.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor support to meet the unique needs of each student.
* Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students can develop academically and socially.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN staff to adapt lesson materials and teaching strategies.
* Support students in developing life skills, emotional resilience, and positive social interactions.
* Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to regular reviews with staff and parents/carers.
* Help manage sensory or behavioral challenges using a patient, proactive, and supportive approach.
* Support students during unstructured times, such as breaks or lunch, to encourage engagement and confidence in social situations.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition or similar needs.
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students’ well-being and educational outcomes.
* Be adaptable, proactive, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Have relevant qualifications or prior experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).
* Be available full-time from January through to the end of the academic year.
