POSITION OVERVIEW The Production Manager reports to the Facility Manager and has primary responsibility for managing, coordinating and control his department activities PRIMARY DUTIES For all the Production Areas and the plant warehouse (Four solvent based plants, one Water based plant and warehouse area used for RM, Packaging and FG before transfer to our external Warehouse), ensure that production plan is met in liaison with open orders, forecast analysis and inventory targets defined by Supply Chain (Planning) Ensuring Health & safety requirements in all areas of the plant with legal and H.B.Fuller requirements; Ensure that the production is cost effective, meet Customers lead times, service level & quality requirements Be potentially the back-up of the site manager during holidays Support of Project Management within the assigned departments (Maintenance / Quality / Logistics / EHS) Prepare and analyze production related data, identifying areas for improvement for each of the key KPI. Coordinate production related resources (equipment, processes, people and materials) to ensure that production goals are meet and in accordance with Safety, Quality and Process specifications and instructions. Analyze productivity and efficiency of the manufacturing processes identifying improvement opportunities that lead to increase productivity. Promote a Quality and Lean Manufacturing culture at the site making sure that ISO (9001 and 14001) principles and guidelines are followed by everyone in his department. Promote Operational Discipline and Visual Management. Participate actively in engineering projects according to the company needs, ensuring the cost and timeline are on the schedule, as well the work is done with the best safety requirements. Participate actively in all safety and environmental related discussions, drills, exercises, emergencies and decisions in Mindelo. Lead the different teams in each department area Defining personal needs and competencies. Select new personnel when needed Ensure motivational levels are kept at a high level by improving the work environment, suggesting recognition awards and compensation changes, ensuring a fair performance assessment of all employees and driving productivity improvement as well as Quality improvements. EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED Shift supervisor, Warehouse supervisor and their direct reports. BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY Manage Production and FL/MOH costs for all areas under his / her supervision as per corporate budget and other financial requirements; Minimum Requirements Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years work experience in production environment. Production Management knowledge and skills. Minimum 3 years work experience in the adhesives, specialty chemical or closely related industry. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes, including process design and development. Risk identification and problem solving. Proven record of high standards in EHS to ensure a safe working culture. Very good spoken & written English language capability. Good practice of the 5S-principles, Lean 6 Sigma, - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate is a plus PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Post-Graduation in Business Management Management Training Leadership Skills Safety Management graduation H.B.
