Fleming-Agri Products have an exciting placement opportunity for a Student Engineer commencing in September 2025. Fleming Agri Products is a leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery based in Newbuildings, Northern Ireland. The company promotes a value for money product portfolio that is sold extensively throughout the UK, Ireland, and several significant export markets including France, and New Zealand. All manufacturing facilities are sited in Newbuildings with metal processing and finishing the primary activities.
About The Role
As a Student Engineer, you will support the engineering department and work closely with our production team to design and develop both existing and new products. This is an exciting opportunity for a student engineer to undertake their placement in the manufacturing/engineering sector.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Design and development of new and existing products using CAD
2. Preparation of technical drawings (to BS8888) and relevant product information
3. Manufacturing planning – DFM and scheduling for manufacture to include Engineering Change controls
4. Design and customer liaison – technical assessment of the customer needs and analysis/suggestion of design solutions
5. Quality control and assessment – to include where necessary measurement and part analysis
6. Communicate with internal departments including production teams, stores team, and R&D team
7. Assist with manufacturing improvement initiatives
Undertake any additional duties as required to improve product and process efficiency.
Requirements:
* Studying for a third level Engineering or related degree
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Experience of working in a team
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Desire to build a career in the manufacturing/engineering sector
* IT literate
