The role: We are looking for kind, caring, and awesome individuals to join our summer team of camp counsellors. In this role, you will be a friend, role model, and leader to our new and returning campers from all over the world. Alongside your fellow counsellors, you will ensure campers are safe, having lots of fun, and creating long-lasting memories. You will achieve this through facilitating friendships, running activities, and providing pastoral care. There are two key responsibilities for a camp counsellor, one is to look after a cabin group of 8-12 campers and the other is to run at least one of our elective activities. Most of your time will be spent looking after your cabin group throughout the day, our cabins are the heart of our camp and you will be responsible for providing pastoral care alongside another counsellor. You will help to facilitate friendships within the cabin group, deal with any issues that arise (bullying, homesickness etc) and ensure that the campers in your cabin settle in. You will wake them up in the morning, eat meals with them, plan fun cabin activities and be a positive role model to them for the duration of their stay. Alongside looking after a cabin, you will also help run at least one of our exciting elective activities. Our electives are open to all of our campers and are designed to be fun, engaging and inclusive. You will help plan and run a two-hour elective activity four days a week, as well as ensuring the elective is fun you will also be required to complete risk assessments to ensure the activities are safe and relevant. Other responsibilities include assisting on trip days, helping run large-scale all-camp events and liaising with parents on arrival/departure days. Please note this is a residential role with full room and board included for the duration of the contract, we are also based at three different sites (Crieff, Dunbar and Stirling) and the length of your contract will depend on which camp you are working at. Experience of working in a fast paced environment. Ability to be a positive role model for young people. Maturity to be responsible for the care, wellbeing and safety of children. Experience and high level of competency with at least one of our elective activities (Art, Sports, Football, Film making, Outdoor Adventure, Dance, Performing Arts, Rockstar, English). Ability to work as part of a team. Beneficial: Experience working in a residential setting. Experience teaching, coaching or instructing. Pay: Camp Counsellors at Crieff will be paid £4200 Camp Counsellors at Dunbar will will be paid £3600 Camp Counsellors at Stirling will will be paid £2950. Gross wage amount before taxes - National Insurance and PAYE deductions, deductions are based upon your current tax codes. Dates: Camp Counsellors at Crieff will work between Monday 23rd June - Saturday 9th August. Camp Counsellors at Dunbar will work between Monday 30th June - Saturday 9th August. Camp Counsellors at Stirling will work between Tuesday 1st July - Saturday 2nd August. Please note these dates include a mandatory staff training week prior to camp starting.
