Goldman Sachs are hiring a DevOps professional who wants to work on extremely interesting challenges with a global impact in the financial sector. We are looking for someone to join a successful global team and will be responsible for supporting and managing a large number of applications that provide Regulatory Reporting functions across the bank. The Regulatory Engineering DevOps team works closely with Regulatory Operations, Regulatory Engineering developers and other Engineering teams to automate the submission of global regulatory reports. Our people have a global perspective, working as a team from six other locations. We run a team where innovation, automation and proactive risk management are encouraged. Challenging work – what will you do? Work with engineering and business operations teams to analyze, assess and remediate impact when services deviates from expected norms: Incident management. Work across teams to identify, understand and eliminate the underlying causes of incidents to improve service quality: Problem Management. Work with development teams to assess, plan, track and release new and changed applications to ensure a seamless transfer of knowledge and support to the DevOps team: Change Management Plan, manage and execute enhancements to the applications across multiple regions and teams. Proactively identify application stability improvements and performance or operational workflow efficiencies. Identify manual processes in the regular BAU work that can be automated and then work with the team in prioritization and automation. Ensure business continuity and improve production stability Build relationships with end users to understand the business and effectively communicate with all stake holders for any production incidents, changes and suggest improvements to existing processes. We are looking for candidates who have: 7 years’ experience in production support and software development. Ability to analyse complex issues in a production/development environment, including experience in identifying patterns, analyzing root cause and proposing solutions to resolve issues. Ability to work with business operations and engineering stakeholders to identify solutions. Ability to manage global production incidents to time sensitive service level objectives. Ability to manage multiple projects, user requests and tasks in parallel. Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical and functional aspects of a development/production problem to help drive solutions with senior stakeholders. A proactive mindset to identify problems and communicate and manage solutions at all levels. An openness for quickly acquiring new skills and learning new technologies. Ability to deep-dive into code and be able to do root cause analysis and identify solutions to an issue. 3 years’ experience in SQL and database technologies (Sybase ASE/Sybase IQ/DB2). 3 years’ experience in JAVA. Additionally, welcomed: Experience or a strong interest in investment banking or financial products is a plus. Experience in Unix and shell scripting.
