Your Newpany: We are currently working with an organisation at the forefront of setting up and ensuring adherence to the UK’s Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes. As the importance of sustainability and climate-related reporting in corporate reporting grows, they have a pivotal role in ensuring that the UK’s corporate governance and reporting keeps pace with this rapidly evolving space and is in line with international standards.
Your New role: This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the direction of sustainability and climate-related reporting in the UK within a supportive and positive working environment. The role will suit an experienced sustainability reporting specialist with a background in consultancy, auditing/accountancy, or in-house corporate sustainability. Responsibilities will include:
1. Providing technical review and oversight of companies’ existing climate-related narrative and financial information, particularly in relation to TCFD disclosures.
2. Contributing to correspondence with companies on potential areas of material non-compliance with TCFD and other relevant sustainability reporting requirements.
3. Supporting the wider organisation with ad-hoc advice on sustainability and climate-related reporting.
4. Contributing to and occasionally leading sustainability reporting initiatives, including research and writing thematic reviews to support the organisation’s work.
5. Developing and delivering internal templates, processes, and training on climate-related reporting, including the development of a technology and data strategy.
6. Engagement with external stakeholders and representing the organisation at events.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Climate Change Reporting: Extensive experience in preparing or reviewing climate change disclosures under TCFD and other sustainability frameworks.
2. Framework Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of reporting standards (TCFD, ISSB, CFD, SASB, GHG Protocol) and best practices in climate change and emissions reporting.
3. Risk Awareness: Awareness of major climate change risks across diverse industries from a company/regulatory perspective.
Additionally, while not mandatory, candidates with experience in data tools like PowerBI and an interest in AI models are encouraged to apply.
