ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – SHARED SERVICES CENTRE
HINCKLEY
What you will be doing:
1. Preparation and review of control account reconciliation processes, both those delivered manually and via RPA
2. Preparation of monthly CIS and VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines
3. Month end closing of all ledgers as per the Group timetables
4. Ownership of fixed asset reporting and control
5. Deliver agreed customer service levels, ensuring the quality of inputs and outputs are appropriate to provide a service fit for purpose.
6. Assist in process improvement, process mapping and maintenance issues associated with the Financial Accounting Department
7. Undertake projects as identified by the Financial Accounting Team Leader and Manager that will improve efficiency or address specific issues
8. Preparation of key control account reconciliations
9. Processing of VAT and CIS returns
About You:
1. Previous experience within a similar role is essential
2. Studying towards AAT/ACCA, or an Accountancy qualification is essential for this role
3. Confident liaising with stakeholders within the business daily
4. Experience of balance sheet reconciliations / Processing of VAT returns
5. Confident with Microsoft packages, specifically Excel
6. Knowledge of an ERP system would be advantageous but not essential
