CAMO Airworthiness Engineer - Powerplant

The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Airworthiness Engineer – Powerplant who will report to the Airworthiness & Technical Support Lead and is responsible for the continuing airworthiness and asset management of all powerplant installed on the Draken CAMO managed fleet (Engines, APU, Propellers) in accordance with all applicable Aviation Regulations and International Standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring that all relevant continuing airworthiness management activities always comply with all applicable Aviation Regulations.
* Performing continuing airworthiness management activities within the boundaries of the privileges/scope of the Aviation Regulatory Approvals held, and as identified in the respective Regulatory Approval Certificates and Expositions.
* Responsible for the performance of the following continuing airworthiness management activities:
o Effective airworthiness and asset management of all powerplant equipment including technical reviews, work scope preparation, liaison with internal and external MRO and workshops for on wing and off wing activities.
o Supporting and providing inputs into the Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMP):
o Management, approval, and accomplishment of the rectification of any defect and/or damage affecting the safe operation of the aircraft/powerplant equipment.
o Liaison with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and/or Design Organisation (DOA), as required.
o Supporting and performing defect/damage assessments, troubleshooting.
o Management, review, analysis, risk assessment and accomplishment of applicable:
+ Airworthiness Directive (AD)
+ Service Bulletin (SB)
+ Technical Orders (TO)
+ Information Notice (IN)
+ Operational Directive (OD)
+ Other, as applicable
o Supporting Maintenance check flights as required.
o Supporting development and interpretation of A/c Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
* Expert knowledge of commercial and/or military Continuing Airworthiness Management principles and practices – Extensive proven experience in a similar role – Required
* Relevant previous experience in powerplant management at operational and/or workshop level - Required
* Theoretical and practical application-level knowledge of AOC Operations – Advantageous
* Expert theoretical and practical application-level knowledge of EASA, UK CAA, UK Military and FAA Aviation Regulations – Required
* Knowledge and experience in BCAR A8-21, A8-23 & A8-25 – Advantageous
* Theoretical and practical application-level knowledge of managing the continuing airworthiness of Civil and/or State Aircraft within a civil airworthiness environment – Advantageous
* Practical application-level knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 27001 as applicable in the aviation environment – Advantageous
* Practical application-level knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) principles and requirements as applicable in the aviation environment – Required
* Demonstrable change management experience – Advantageous
* Technical Qualifications: – Required
o EASA / CAA / Other Part 66 B1 or B2 Aircraft Engineer License, or equivalent, or
o Relevant Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering Degree, or
o 5 GCSE (O-Levels) at minimum Grade C / BTEC equivalent / Aviation Apprenticeship with proven relevant industry experience, or
o Extensive, relevant and proven Continuing Airworthiness Management experience.
* Relevant Aircraft (Airframe & Engine) Type Training or General Familiarisation Training – Advantageous
