Overview
Position Summary:
Responsible for adjusting Property & Casualty claims for both the Franchisee and Corporate program for all lines except worker’s compensation claims. Additionally, the individual will review, respond and negotiate third party settlements with claimants and attorneys, including those files in active litigation.
Responsibilities
* Handle all aspects of claims administration for all property and casualty claims, ultimately resolving claims to closure.
* Prepare, file and respond to Arbitration Forums for pursuit of subrogation.
* Present coverage questions and analysis to insurance carriers on Franchisee & Corporate programs for casualty losses.
* Conduct thorough investigations, evaluate damages and liability, and negotiate settlements for product liability claims with customers (auto technicians) or their attorneys.
* Investigate, evaluate damages and negotiate settlements for property and franchisee inventory claims directly with Snap‑on employees, franchisees, and insurance carriers.
* Effectively establish reserves and manage all files for prompt closure for all claims.
* Facilitate information and documentation gathering from internal engineers and subsidiaries in response to requests from outside and opposing counsel for product liability claims.
* Review and revise responsive documents, discovery requests, and correspondence for litigation.
* Report large loss notifications to the carriers.
* Manage settlements within Snap‑on’s self-insured retention with manager approval.
* Support financial reporting of losses to Snap-on SecureCorp Companies.
* Maintain claim history and supporting documents in the claims system.
* Review medical records and negotiate third party settlements with claimants and attorneys.
* Support Snap-on SecureCorp Insurance with agency administration.
Qualifications
Requirements
* Bachelor Degree with five or more years of claims handling and insurance company/TPA experience (or equivalent experience) including bodily injury and litigation.
* Adjuster insurance licensing in all states that require a license and maintain same. Selected candidate to obtain specific licenses for CA, NY, TX, within 2 months of start date. Any other states as needed. Yearly continuing education required.
* Working knowledge of insurance coverages with investigative, analytic and negotiating skills.
* Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
* Interpersonal skills to work effectively with field employees and dealers.
* Proficiency in verbal and written communications.
* Strong ability to prioritize workload.
* Compliance with department claim standards and best practices.
