If so, youll want to read on As a medium sized law firm with 200 staff, providing a range of legal services to commercial and private clients, they currently have a requirement for a Legal Accounts Manager/COFA. Your main remit will be as Head Cashier, managing a team of 6 staff and taking responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the department. You will also work closely with the wider finance team and have regular liaison with partners across all levels, hence ensuring you gain wider exposure and responsibilities in adding value to the firms growth. Your Remit: Reporting to the both the Finance Director & Head of Risk & Compliance, you will act as the firms COFA and help identify, assess and mitigate financial risks. This will involve: Supervise and guide the Cashiers team, ensuring they deliver an accurate and efficient service. Form part of the wider Senior Managers team and have input into the day-to-day operations of the wider Firm. Assessing, and if required, implementing or improving data related efficiencies and processes. Financial analysis on files - providing ad hoc information on financial transactions as and when required. Ensure that all transactions are handled in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules. Regular Cash flow management. Responsible for liaising with external auditors, specifically in relation to the Solicitors Accounts Rules Audit. Submit the quarterly VAT returns. Maintain the card payment systems. Payroll and benefit administration - working alongside the HR team, responsibility for payroll and pensions administration. Equity Partner benefit administration. Skills & Experience Required In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of SRA Accounts rules. Worked within the legal sector, either at a similar level/capacity, or ready to take the step-up. Able to handle the complexities and volume of transactions. Staff management experience. Knowledge of payroll and benefit administration will be advantageous, but by no means a pre-requisite. Strong communicator with high levels of interpersonal skills to form trusted advisor status with the Partners and Senior leadership team. Conscientious, meticulous and professional, with a can-do attitude.
