Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer\nAbout the Company:\nOur client is a leading company, predominantly serving the retail sector, providing refrigeration and air conditioning services to major brands. They are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will work a basic 40-hour week with overtime payments, potentially earning over £50k annually.\nSalary: £17.50 per hour / £36,400 per annum + OT + Call Out (OTE £50K)\nLocation: Operating across the North West\nWorking Hours:\nMonday – Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm\nWeekend Call Out: 1 in 4 (paid at 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x Sundays)\n40 hours per week + Overtime\nYou will be on a rota for a late shift Monday – Friday after your call-out weekend, which starts between 12 pm – 2 pm for 8 hours.
You will be paid 1.5x from 4:30 pm. This is based on 1 in 4 weeks (13 times per year), and you will be paid a minimum of 4 of the 8 hours at 1.5x the normal rate.\nOvertime Calculation:\n * Engineers work 1 in 4 weeks on a later shift, meaning 13 times per year (52 weeks ÷ 4).\n * The shift runs from Monday to Friday (5 days).\n * Overtime starts at 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 4 hours per shift paid at 1.5x the normal rate.\nOvertime Pay Breakdown:\nOvertime Rate:\n * £17.50 × 1.5 = £26.25 (overtime rate per hour)\nOvertime Hours per Day: 4\nOvertime Pay per Day:\n * £26.25 × 4 = £105\nOvertime Pay per Week (5 days):\n * £105 × 5 = £525\nOvertime Pay per Year (13 weeks per year):\n * £525 × 13 = £6,825\nTotal Annual Salary:\n * Base Salary: £36,400\n * Overtime: £6,825\n * Total: £36,400 + £6,825 = £43,225\nYou will be provided with your own van, so a clean driver’s license is required.\nMain Duties (not limited to):\n * Carrying out PPM and reactive work on various refrigeration and air conditioning systems.\n * Fault finding, breakdowns, and servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning (various types of systems).\n * Fault finding of bespoke control systems.\n * Maintenance and servicing of refrigeration.\nThe Ideal Candidate Should Have:\n * At least 3 years’ experience in refrigeration systems.\n * NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred, not essential).\n * FGAS Refrigerant Handling (City & Guilds 2079).\n * Hydrocarbon qualifications.\n * Extensive field experience in the refrigeration sector.\n * Good communication skills (both written and oral).\n * A full UK driving licence.\n * Must be refrigeration biased, as 80% of our client’s work is on refrigeration systems.\nBenefits:\n * Bonus scheme\n * Workwear\n * Mobile phone\n * Company vehicle + specialised equipment\n * Paid holidays offered\n * Further training opportunities available where required\n * Supportive working environment
