Senior Ingredients & Packaging Buyer
A leading food manufacturer with sites across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland is seeking a Senior Ingredients & Packaging Buyer. This role involves managing procurement for ingredients and packaging, driving sustainable cost savings, and supporting revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop procurement strategies for assigned categories, ensuring cost-effective purchases from suppliers.
2. Lead negotiations and manage procurement programs, including factory rollouts and planning.
3. Gather market intelligence and share insights within the organization.
4. Continuously review and expand the supplier base, mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions.
5. Collaborate with supply chain teams to achieve customer service and operational efficiency targets.
6. Ensure supplier agreements align with company payment terms and working capital objectives.
7. Manage strategic supplier relationships and foster partnerships for mutual benefit.
8. Work closely with R&D, Operations, and Marketing/Commercial teams to support new product development and innovation.
9. Oversee the implementation of new projects, materials, and suppliers.
10. Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and maintain performance scorecards.
11. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in procurement processes, including supplier joint business plans and value engineering.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Experience in procurement, particularly in ingredients and packaging.
2. Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
3. Knowledge of market analysis tools and procurement best practices.
4. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects.
5. Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in procurement.
6. Understanding of regulatory and legislative changes impacting sourcing strategies.
7. Compliance with ethical sourcing policies and company standards, including data protection and health & safety regulations.
Additional Information:
1. Green Belt Lean accreditation is expected within 18 months of joining.
2. The role requires travel to various sites and suppliers.
