We’re seeking for experienced Operations Supervisors/Process Assistants to join the team for the upcoming launch of our brand new Fulfillment Center in Cranbourne West.
The Operations Supervisor will support the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities in one of the following process areas within the Fulfillment Center Operations: Receive, stow, pick, pack or ship. You'll have the opportunity to continuously improve the efficiency of delivery processes, ensuring that customer orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible.
Please note the shift pattern is based on 4 days on and 3 days off and can be also based on nights. (Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday).
Key job responsibilities:
1. Support and work in all departments as required.
2. Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties.
3. Providing coverage for Area Managers.
4. Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline).
5. Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours.
6. Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance.
7. Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance.
8. Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity.
9. Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals.
10. Assisting in keeping work area clean and organised.
11. Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area.
12. Coaching associates to work safely at all times.
13. Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous experience leading, mentoring and coaching teams.
2. Experience working within a similar field (manufacturing/distribution/warehousing/large retail).
3. Availability to work 38 hours+/week, and overtime as required.
4. Comfortable in lifting up to 16 kilos, stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train and assist team members.
6. Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Leadership experience directly managing others.
2. Experience with performance metrics and lean process improvement.
