I am working with an education facility in Warrington who are looking for a Support Worker to join their team. This is working 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
This college provide high quality care and education to school leavers aged 19+ and all learners have an EHCP in place. Students follow a designated pathway, which includes preparing students for work and gaining nationally recognised qualifications and gaining life skills. The school is heavily staffed with experienced Teachers and Support Staff and is well equipped with sensory areas, a working kitchen for students and multiple classrooms. This school also provide a holiday club for young people with SEND throughout the school holidays.
As the successful applicant you will be working accross various classroom providing support to students as and where needed, providing emotional and academic support. As most students will have Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Learning Needs, there will be times where you will need to accompany the students outside of the classroom; eg to the bathroom, sensory rooms, etc. On occassions you will be needed to accompany the students with swimming lessons / hydrotherapy - although you will not be required to enter the pool, you will be needed to assist with changing.
To apply for this role, you will need:
- experience in an education or residential setting working with SEND - any relevant qualifications would be advantageous, but not essential
- a passion for making a different to the lives of people with SEND
- a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one
