As a Band 5 Nurse on the Acute Medical Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced, acute environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough and timely assessments of acutely ill patients, recognising and responding to changes in condition. Prioritise care based on clinical urgency.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and progress, making clinical decisions based on current guidelines. Adapt care plans as needed and escalate concerns appropriately.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, allied health professionals, and other team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care. Participate in ward rounds and discharge planning.
Infection Control and Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control policies and health and safety regulations.
Professional Development: Actively participate in training, mentoring, and development opportunities provided by the Trust. Enhance your skills in acute medical care and support junior staff and students in their learning.
