Position Details
You will be part of an operational Roads Team based at Gartcraig Road and Lighting Depot responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Glasgow’s Road infrastructure. It is appropriate that you have the ability to cope with pressure, be organised to ensure deadlines are met and be able to manage your own performance as well as your team’s goals. You will have good communication skills, knowledge of CDM, Health and Safety, the ability to deal with the public and see tasks through to completion.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the design, planning, implementation, supervision and contract administration of roads improvement works in the City, assisting in the management and development of the road infrastructure. Management of internal works programmes procured by the Roads Depot citywide; to comply with the Roads (Scotland) Act statutory duty to manage, maintain and improve the City’s surface street network and deliver the Council’s strategic priorities. You will possess and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, be able to plan, organise and prioritise work and be able to meet deadlines.
An HND/HNC or equivalent level qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or a relevant Engineering discipline is an essential requirement for this role.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 hours
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: £34,.37 - £40,.84 on an incremental scale
