About the Role
We are seeking an experienced M&E Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join our team in Gillingham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all MEP projects meet the highest quality standards, comply with relevant regulations, and exceed client expectations. You will oversee quality control processes, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement across our projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s QA policies, procedures, and standards for MEP projects.
2. Project Oversight: Ensure all MEP installations meet regulatory and company quality standards, with regular inspections and reviews.
3. Compliance: Monitor adherence to building regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards, including ISO certifications.
4. Auditing: Conduct regular quality audits on-site and off-site, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
5. Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and guide project teams on quality assurance processes and best practices.
6. Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate QA records, including reports, test results, and certifications.
7. Supplier and Subcontractor Assessment: Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality expectations.
8. Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, addressing quality-related concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
9. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to quality issues in projects.
10. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance quality processes and improve efficiency across the business.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role within the MEP or construction sector.
2. Strong knowledge of M&E (mechanical and electrical) systems and installations.
3. Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
4. In-depth understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and industry codes of practice.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with clients.
6. Experience conducting audits and implementing corrective action plans.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
Desirable
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
2. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET).
3. Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes.
4. NEBOSH or similar health and safety qualification.
