Summary We are looking for a Campsite Assistant to work at both Wasdale and Eskdale Campsite. Day to day, you will support the delivery of an enjoyable outdoor holidays experience for our visitors. Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time). Shifts will be within the times of 9am and 8pm, based on weekly rotas with 2 weeks notice. Weekend and bank holiday working required. Contract: Fixed term until 31st October 2025 Salary: £11.64 an hour Interview date: Friday 28th February Internally you will be known as 'Outdoors Holidays Operation Assistant'. What it's like to work here Working with a dynamic and energetic team across two campsites, Wasdale and Eskdale Campsites, working in teams of 2 – 5 individuals at any one time. Each campsite has its own special charm being situated in two quite different iconic West Lakes Valleys. Wasdale being the home to the England’s deepest Lake, England’s Highest Mountain (Scafell Pike) and Britain’s favourite view, whilst Eskdale being a gateway to the magnificent Western fells with numerous sites and activities available to visitors. The campsites are ideal locations for our guests to begin new adventures. You will report to your Holidays Operations Manager and training will be provided. There are exciting opportunities within the Holidays team and the wider National Trust. What you'll be doing You’ll play a key role in keeping the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well-maintained and welcoming for our guests. This includes practical tasks like cleaning, basic maintenance, reporting any repairs, as well as providing friendly guest service. You’ll greet visitors, assist with bookings, handle guest enquiries or complaints, and support the running of the campsite shop. Your work will help deliver a fantastic outdoor holiday experience, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to National Trust standards.
